Australia-Korea Foundation: 2012-13 grant round now open

The Australia-Korea Foundation 2012-2013 grant round is now open and will close on April 2, 2012 at midnight (EST-Sydney time)
Objectives
The objectives of the Australian-Korea Foundation are to:
- Increase public awareness of Australia in Korea, and of Korea in Australia, and the importance of the bilateral relationship
- Develop partnerships in areas of shared interest in the bilateral, regional and global context
- Increase Australians' capacity to effectivbely engage with Korea. 

In 2011-12, funding priority will be given to projects and programs that strengthen Australia's relationship with Korea through people-to-people engagements across a diverse range of sectors.

Themes

Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of AKF

Projects which emphasise and seek to celebrate the long-standing and friendly relations that have developed between Australia and Korea over the past two decades, especially those that can show how seed funding from AKF in past years has fostered enduring relationships between organisations and institutions that continue today.

Partnerships and Collaborations in the fields of Technology, Environment and Agriculture

Projects which establish new partnerships or build on existing collaborations between institutions or peak bodies and their counterparts in Korea, particularly in emerging fields of research and development.

Public Diplomacy, Media and Advocacy

Projects which highlight Australia's cultural and societal diversity, and encourage a greater awareness and well-informed knowledge of contemporary Australia among Korean influencers and in the broader Korean society.

Youth and Capacity Building for the Future

Projects which develop the skills of Australians to effectively engage with Korea such as language and cross-cultural skills and build a deeper understanding of Korean society, politics and the economy such as student and professional exchange programs.

Timelines

Activities must commence after 1 August 2012 and be completed by 30 September 2013.
Closing time for the lodgement of applications is midnight (AEST) on Friday 2 April 2012.
From January 2011 applications must be submitted online. References are required but may be submitted separately. Please note that the form will be activated from Monday 13 February 2012.
